HANGAR RENOVATION - FLIGHT OPTIONS, Cleveland, Ohio
The Challenge
Flight Options, headquartered in Cleveland, has emerged as a leader in the fractional jet industry. Flight Options now has a fleet of more than 200 aircraft for executive use. As such, the condition of its fleet and the appearance of its hangars are of utmost importance to both Flight Options and its exacting clientele. The 35,000-square-foot hangar had previously been covered with blown insulation. When hangar doors were open, wind gusts would loosen the insulation, the pieces of which detached from the ceiling and landed on the aircraft and hangar floor.
The Solution
ICA was retained to insulate Flight Options’ hangar. The Energy Miser® system – featuring a bright white facing that is attached directly to the structural steel – was installed throughout the hangar, thereby eliminating from the facility the deteriorating blown insulation.
The Result
Flight Options’ newly renovated hangar not only has a clean, bright appearance, which pleases clients, but also a more energy efficient operation. And the fast-track installation had minimal impact on hangar operations.
